Organic Iron for Lawns

The essential nutrient for vibrant greener lawns.

  • Naturally reduces moss growth without blackening grass.

  • Used by professional greenskeepers across Europe

Iron is the ‘essential’ nutrient when it comes to the lush green lawns as it is the primary nutrient involved in chlorophyll production which is needed for the vital grass process of photosynthesis. It also helps nitrogen fixing in grasses to support continual growth. Lawns need plenty of iron to keep them looking amazing and to create a tight turf that will prevent ingress from moss and weeds, so it is important to regularly apply iron.

High soil pH (above 6.0) dramatically reduces iron availability, so it is important to use irons that are chelated so iron is not lost to the plant. More Gro-Expert Organic Iron is the ultimate organic source of Iron available to professional sportster and lawns greenkeepers across the world and now we bring it to the home gardener. Top Tip

Lawn mosses are extremely sensitive to higher levels of Iron while being lapped up by hungry grasses. However, iron sources vary and will blacken your lawn if overused, checking growth. Gro-Expert Organic Iron will weaken moss to allow for grasses to grow more easily. If moss if quite prevalent in your lawn, once it is browned, always remove it and sow grass seed into its place for a thicker turf. Always remember, if the conditions that favour the growth of moss are not changed, the moss will recover over time, so it is important to remedy this with drainage or more light if possible.
